The PROV Appraisal and Documentation Team invites stakeholders to review two new draft Retention and Disposal Authorities.
The aim of these Retention and Disposal Authorities, once issued as Standards, is to specify records required as State Archives and to provide for the lawful disposal of records not required permanently after specified periods.
Public Transport
The first draft Retention and Disposal Authority (RDA) for review is for records of the Public Transport Function.
This RDA will apply to the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP). It covers records of the following functions:
- Network Planning and Delivery
- Network Control and Safety
- Passenger Services
The draft RDA is available below, along with a brief report outlining the background, scope and appraisal recommendations:
- Draft RDA for Records of Public Transport Function
- Request for Feedback Report - Public Transport Function
Planning Referral Management
The second RDA is for records of the Planning Referral Management Function, also undertaken by DTP, but broader in application across the Department than the public transport functions.
The draft RDA is available below, along with a brief report outlining the background, scope and appraisal recommendations:
- Draft RDA for Records of Planning Referral Management Function
- Request for Feedback Report - Planning Referral Management Function
For both RDAs we would appreciate feedback on the following:
- Are the retention periods reasonable?
- Is the language used in the RDAs clear?
- Can you identify any gaps in the RDA coverage?
Please provide any feedback to agency.queries@prov.vic.gov.au by COB Tuesday 13 June 2023.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples should be aware the collection and website may contain images, voices and names of deceased persons.
