Why we ask for your feedback
We want to continue to ensure we are meeting the needs and expectations of every researcher who comes into our Reading Rooms. Your feedback helps us to do this. The data and comments gathered from the survey help us to:
- better understand and rectify any issues and ideas regarding our website
- understand how our staff our supporting researchers
- see how we can further assist researchers with disabilities and language difficulties
- examine ongoing service delivery issues and determine how we can improve them
- rectify any collection management issues raised
- report to Government on the customer satisfaction of our services each quarter.
We take all feedback, good and bad, very seriously. We pass on any praise to relevant team members and discuss the not-so-complimentary comments and try to determine why they have occurred and what we can do to ensure they don’t happen again. One example of recent feedback has been about the often chilly temperature of the North Melbourne Reading Room. As a result of this feedback our facilities team and contractors undertook a major review of the system supporting temperature regulation. During this review we made numerous changes which should now see improved conditions within the Reading Room.
At PROV we are very pleased with the levels of satisfaction reported and would like to take this opportunity to thank you! The last four surveys have produced the following satisfaction ratings:
September 2017 - 98%
June 2017 - 93%
March 2017 - 95%
December 2016 - 92%
Reading Room over the summer period
Our Reading Room staff will take a short break over the Christmas and New Year period. Please keep the below closures in mind before planning any summer research trips:
The Victorian Archives Centre will close at 12 noon on Friday 22 December and reopen 10am Tuesday 2 January 2018.
The Ballarat Archives Centre will close at 4.30pm on Tuesday 19 December and reopen 10am Tuesday 2 January 2018.
