PROS 11/01 G4 Places of Deposit (POD) for State Archives Guideline applies to Places of Deposit (POD) interested in submitting an application to become certified to store and provide access to state archives.
A certified POD repository is a facility or area that has been authorised by the Keeper of Public Records to store state archives on behalf of Public Record Office Victoria (PROV). These facilities or areas must already have been appointed by the Minister under section 14 of the Public Records Act 1973 as a POD for temporary records.
This guideline is not intended for use by secondary storage suppliers for commercial storage of public records identified as being state archives, nor is it intended for agency use unless they are setting up a POD repository for the archival storage of state archives in consultation with PROV.
Please note that there is a new version of the Storage Standard and APROSS Specification which are both available via the Standards Framework page. The new Storage Standard (PROS 20/02) replaces both PROS 11/01 Storage Standard and PROS 11/01 S1 Agency Records Storage Specification.
