Officially known as: Consumer Protection Bureau
The Consumer Protection Bureau was established in 1970 as a branch of the Department of Labour and Industry (VA 1027).

In 1974 the Bureau was superseded by the Consumer Affairs Bureau (VA 2736) which operated as an independent administrative unit within the Ministry of Consumer Affairs (VA 1026).
