Koorie Records Unit

The Koorie Records Unit promotes awareness about Aboriginal records within the Public Record Office Victoria collection and aims to improve accessibility of these records to the Aboriginal community.

The Koorie Records Unit: 　

• provides a culturally sensitive Koorie Reference Service to provide support and advice to Aboriginal people wishing to access records relevant to their personal and community histories. This service is delivered in collaboration with the National Archives of Australia, which also holds Victorian government records.　

• develops resources, programs and initiatives that increase the knowledge, accessibility and use of Victoria's unique collection of government records relating to Aboriginal people.
