Police Branch Chief Secretary's Office

Police Branch developed as a major function of the Chief Secretary and remained within the Department until its dissolution in 1977. The records have developed quite separately although there is a real degree of correlation between these and the central correspondence of the Chief Secretary's Office (viz VPRS 1189, 3991, 3992 &c).
