Much has been written about the current state of recordkeeping in the Victorian public sector; independent reviews and investigations have been conducted into not only recordkeeping, but other government activities where poor recordkeeping has been identified as a contributing factor to failures in process.
In addition to these independent inquiries, Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) has also undertaken a range of assessments and surveys to determine recordkeeping maturity in agencies, recordkeeping issues affecting agencies, and barriers to proper recordkeeping practices.
A report has been developed that summarises the findings of these various reports and assessments; it identifies the major recordkeeping challenges facing the Victorian public sector and provides a snapshot of the initiatives that have been undertaken (or are currently being undertaken) by PROV and other government agencies to address recordkeeping challenges.
