Function / Content

The letter books comprise copies of correspondence despatched from, and received into the office. The correspondence was retained for future reference. The District Forester signed most of the correspondence forwarded from the office. The content of correspondence was handwritten into the books comprising Units 1-3.

Researchers should consult the index at the front of Unit 1. In relation to Units 2 and 3, researchers should scan the volumes around the period that they are researching.
