This Amendment Index (Map) was created to provide access to the Melbourne Metropolitan Planning Scheme (MMPS) Amendment Maps (1968 to 1988) located in VPRS 16157 and the Melbourne Metropolitan Region Planning Scheme Amendment Maps located in VPRS 16155 for the period 1988 to 2000.1968 to 1988
The index consists of PS Maps. The amendments to the Planning Scheme for a particular area are marked on the Planning Scheme Area Map, e.g., all amendments from 1 until 529 affecting the area of Preston are noted on the map (No. 44) in red. The L (Local) and RL (Regional) numbers are marked in green, post 1988. In case of L and RL Amendment Map Numbers, refer to the consignment details for VPRS 16155.

How to use the records
Period :1968 to 1988 : Access to MMPS Amendment Maps, VPRS 16157Units 1 to 6 of the P1 consignment of this series provide access to the Melbourne Metropolitan Planning Scheme (MMPS) Amendment Maps located in VPRS 16157.
The MMPS Amendment Maps in this series are arranged in Planning Scheme (PS) Area Map Number Order. All amendments from 1 to 529 affecting an area are noted on each Planning Scheme Area Map in red. The use of red numerals ceased on Day One (February 16th 1988). The L (Local) and RL (Regional) numbers are marked in green, (post 1988). In case of L and RL Amendment Map Numbers, refer to the consignment details for VPRS 16155.
Step 1
To get the PS Area Map Reference Number, refer to VPRS 16260 P2, Map Index. Each Municipal Area is identified by a number, e.g. Preston is identified by Map Number 44. Four digit numbers, e.g., 2090, 2091 - represented the enlarged metropolitan area. Two numbers, e.g., 26-2 represents a metric series number.
Step 2
Once you have the PS Area Map Reference number (from VPRS 16260 P2), retrieve the required Unit/Index Map from this series.
Step 3
Take note of all amendment numbers recorded on the Planning Scheme Municipal Area Map.
Step 4
Once you have the planning scheme amendment numbers, refer to the consignment details for VPRS 16157 and identify the unit/map containing the required MMPS Amendment Map.
Note:
It may be necessary to refer to a Melway map available from the Reference Desk to find the exact location of the land.
