Function / Content
In 1971 a memo was circulated by the then Chairman and General Manager of the Gas and Fuel Corporation of Victoria detailing the establishment of a Central Executive File. The file was to combine all material more than five years old directed to or originating from the following executives:Chairman and General Manager
Associate Directors
Secretary
Executive Officer
Chief Accountant
The memo also stated that:
"Executive secretaries have been advised of the procedure required to locate source material originating from the individual executive file systems and are in possession of lists showing the location within the Central Executive File of all papers and files forwarded for retention."
The content of this series appears to be a copy of one of these lists for the files initially transferred as part of the establishment of the Central Executive File.
Many of the entries are dated. A contents date range of 1935-1968 was chosen to reflect the earliest and latest dates of the files in the list.
