Performance and Assurance Audit Reports to Parliament
Agencies
Date Range
Function / Content
This series consists of performance audit reports. A performance audit evaluates whether an organisation or government program is performing economically, efficiently and in compliance with all relevant legislation. These audit reports are the final records of the audit detailing all findings and recommendations. They are tabled in Parliament and are used to highlight any issues of significance to the community and recommend change.
These audit report records contain an audit overview, a conclusion, findings, recommendations and responses to the recommendations.
Precisely when reports of this nature began to be produced is subject to further research. The series start date is based on information provided by the agency at the time of transfer around 2017 but isn't necessarily conclusive. The legislative basis governing production of the reports is also subject to further research.
Recordkeeping system
The reports are published as individual volumes. Some later reports have a 3 level number eg 2009-10:14, 2015-16:24. The first number appears to be the year of publication. The meaning of the other numbers is subject to further research.
