This series comprises meeting minutes and papers relating to the provision of aged care by Mount Royal Hospital (VA 1280) and the Melbourne Extended Care and Rehabilitation Service (VA 5265), which was formed as the result of an amalgamation of Mount Royal and the Greenvale Centre (VA 5267).

This series relates to the function of providing aged care services, and includes reports of the planning group for the provision of older persons’ services in the western region of Melbourne. 

The series also includes the Melbourne Extended Care and Rehabilitation Service representative’s files on the North Western Aged Care and Rehabilitation Business Group Executive. This Group was a collective of the various aged care related units within the North Western Health Care Network (VA 5262). The group was responsible for planning and reporting on patients, staffing, discharge, bed allocation, finance, quality, continuum of care, and targets within aged care in the Network.
