This series comprises the minutes, agendas and papers of the Research Foundation Council of the Royal Melbourne Hospital (VA 1048).
The role of the Research Foundation Council was to oversee the activities of the Research Foundation, which was established on 1 May 1994. The role of the Research Foundation was to co-ordinate research at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. The Council was tasked with ensuring that the Research Foundation made efficient use of resources directed towards its research activities. Additionally, the Council provided advice to staff wishing to pursue clinical research activities. On 1 July 2002, the Research Foundation was replaced by the Research Directorate, and in August 2008 by the Office for Research.
Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Archives.
