The discharge section of the register details:

- Date of discharge or death

Recordkeeping system
The register is in two sections—admissions and discharges—with each section arranged chronologically by date of admission or discharge respectively. At the time of transfer, only the register dated 1857 – 1860 had been identified by the hospital archives.
Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Archives.
